Our Spring/Easter Celebration 2011

How appropriate for Earth Day to fall on the same weekend as Easter this year! Our celebrating began on Saturday at a community Earth Day extravaganza complete with huge puppets, mask making, close encounters with some river water invertebrates, and an awesome old-school slide. Sunday morning we awoke to the magic of hidden baskets and a delicious breakfast (while I snuck out back in my pjs to prepare the egg hunt for a VERY anxious 4-year old!) And of course, the highlight was the egg hunt. Such sweet moments from Cedar helping Amara find her first easter egg to his very first bite into a chocolate bunny.
A wonderful weekend shared with some special grandparents and one very special bunny.

Still more snow!

There is something entirely absurd about snow and early spring bulbs mixing company. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. But what the heck? Cedar and I giggled our way through (hopefully!) the last snowman of the season. When we put the finishing touches of purple petals atop his head, he asked, "Mama, can I cuddle him?"
And just look at that face ~ such sweetness.

More cousin love

This past weekend we were blessed to have an extended stay with TJ's sister and family. While TJ travelled on to Nashville for work, the kids and I had time to connect with friends and enjoy many a snuggle and giggle with family. Saying goodbye is never easy for Cedar and the meltdown morning signaling our last day together still occurred, only this time it was eased by the multiple days of play previous. A few highlights include:
**the hilarious and uber-confident stage presence of a little miss maggie
** a rocking debut of Sam the Magician!
**the excitement over someone's first time ever for hot pink nails
**and this view from my knitting chair across the room day after day.

What I am loving right now

**that my four year old is teaching me that cleaning can be fun!
**the peace-filled 10 minutes that a recent cement truck unknowingly gave me
**the reappearance of one of my favorite little pairs of shoes
**wild ramps transplanted into our back woods!
**This face. Oh my, this face. His SOUL was captured here and I get teared up every time I see this photo.

There is a lot to love these days. Yes, a LOT.

Worth every second

This is what I get for taking my eyes away from my little girl the other day to get a few more rounds of knitting done. Ah, well. . . it was worth every little stitch.
